Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our smart cards.

Which chip types do you support?

As a MIFARE registered partner, the Custom Card Hub supplies MIFARE Classic 1K chips, suitable for systems designed to work with this format. It is important to confirm compatibility with your reader or access system before ordering.

A smart card carries an embedded chip that stores data and communicates with a reader, either by contact or contactlessly. It supports applications that a printed card alone cannot, such as secure access, cashless payment and stored credentials.

In most cases yes, provided the chip type matches your reader. Tell us the reader make and model, or the chip specification you currently use, and we will match it.

Yes. Cards can be supplied pre encoded so they work on arrival, which avoids you having to programme each card yourself.
